• As students of the Empire College Hospitality Program, we organize an annual fund-raising event for charity as part of our curriculum. This year, we are contacting businesses in our community in an effort to raise funds for and . One hundred percent of all the money donated goes to these worthy charities.    The theme of the event this year is "Got Flocked!" in which we are offering local businesses an opportunity to sponsor one of the most iconic birds in the world: the bright pink lawn flamingo. These birds will travel throughout Sonoma County for 15 days before taking flight to other states where, with the help of other hospitality colleges, they will continue their fund-raising efforts before returning home.

• Platinum level is $300.00, and it allows your business to decorate your flamingo without holding back. We encourage you to use your imagination and have fun with it. ( You could make this into an enjoyable team-builing exercise for your employees!). As a Platinum sponsor, you also have the opportunity to choose the date that the flock will roost on your property!
• The Gold level is $200.00, which guarantees your business' logo to be proudly displayed on your flamingo.

    All sponsored flamingos will travel in flocks of 15 and will perch on your property for one business day. They will then move on to another sponsor the next day, and will keep going until all of the sponsors have had these beautiful birds grace their business establishments.

All Platinum and Gold sponsors will receive two tickets for an exlusive VIP Launch Party at Empire College on August 12, 2010. On this evening, the flamingos will be introduced, decorated in full splendor. Tickets for all other guests will be $10.00.

With the Press Democrat as one of our partners in the community, and utilization of the the social media outlets of Facebook and Twitter, this event promises to provide the opportunity for positive exposure to the businesses and charities taking part.
